Payment Options

  1. 50% deposit is required to secure a booking at Elk at Hakuba.
  2. All bookings must be paid in full within 60 days of travel.
  3. We accept direct bank deposit, master card and visa card.

Cancellations

If the booking is cancelled more than six weeks before arrival, Elk at Hakuba will refund the deposit less a cancellation fee of 15% which will be retained by Elk at Hakuba.

If the booking is cancelled less than six weeks before arrival, Elk at Hakuba will attempt to re-let and if Elk at Hakuba can re-let the apartment; the money held by Elk at Hakuba will be refunded less a 15% cancelation fee which will be retained by Elk at Hakuba.

If Elk at Hakuba cannot re-let the apartment, all monies held by Elk at Hakuba will be retained.

Insurance

We strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance to cover the loss of monies paid in the event of having to cancel your reservation.

Security Bond

Reservations require a Security Bond on arrival in the form of a signed bond form and credit card details.

Person(s) booking accommodation are responsible for any loss or damage to it. The bond is additional to the cost of the reservation and is fully refundable after departure providing the property is left in a clean, tidy and undamaged condition.

Keycards will not be issued until the Security Bond is processed.

Elk at Hakuba is a non-smoking property. Smoking is not permitted at any time within the apartment, hallways, restaurant or common areas. Smoking is only permitted on balconies, or outside the property. Failure to comply will result in additional cleaning costs.

Elk at Hakuba Noise Policy: to respect other guests, we ask that you keep noise to a minimum between the hours of 10pm and 7am. Excessive noise after hours will not be tolerated; Elk at Hakuba reserves the right to terminate the reservation immediately, without refund.

The number of guests staying in the apartment shall not exceed the number of guests booked and declared on the Guest Registration Card. Should at any time the number of guest in the apartment exceed the number of guests declared, Elk at Hakuba reserves the right to terminate the reservation immediately, without refund.

CHECK IN: 4:00pm

Please Note: Every effort is made to make rooms available as soon as possible; however we cannot guarantee room availability before 4:00pm. Change facilities,  luggage and ski storage is available.

CHECK OUT: 10:00am

Check out time is strictly 10am. Keycards to the apartments are to be returned to reception upon departure. A replacement fee of $5.00 shall be charged to the guest account should they not be returned.

Snow Guarantee

The Snow Guarantee ensures that, if 48 hours prior to your scheduled arrival there is insufficient snow to enable snow-sports on at least 3 designated downhill runs at Hakuba, all payments received (less booking fee) will be refunded. All snow guarantee cancellations must be received 48 hours prior to scheduled arrival. This guarantee does not apply if snow-sport runs at the Resort cannot be accessed should ski lifts be unable to operate due to other conditions. This guarantee is applicable during Elk at Hakuba Peak/High Season only.

All rates and services are subject to change, without notice, at the operator’s discretion. All prices are in Australian Dollars and are inclusive of GST.

A surcharge applies to all single night reservations.

Suits everbody

"Staying at Elk is like staying with relatives. The staff go out of their way to make everybody feel welcome - even extending to going out on the town, to local events, and driving you to your whatever each day (ski resort, board hire, doctor's appointment, onsen etc). It's certainly not 5 star and doesn't pretend to be, but if you've ever stayed in an on-mountain ski lodge, this really is comfortable."

Great place, great location, great food and friendly staff

"This was our 4th trip to Japan and our first time at Elk. It is situated near several restaurants and Echoland. The bus stops to the ski resorts are close. Justina and her staff are good fun and happy to go out of their way to help with local knowledge or with a lift to the rental shop, other ski resorts or the supermarket. The cooked breakfast is a great start to the day. The fruit bowl is kept topped up for a healthy fruit snack. The lounge is nice and warm at night with the fire going. There are games for the kids to play and there are usually other children to keep your kids company."

Ski holiday

"We had the time of our lives spending Christmas and New Years at the Elk. We found everything that we expected and more. We couldn't fault value for money - the rooms were very comfortable, we were close to free bus shuttles that took us to all the mountains in Hakuba Valley, a five minute walk to a host of great restaurants and a host/manager that went out of her way to ensure that we had a great time. I have recommended the Elk to a number of my friends who will be visiting this coming season."
